I’m a Hobart-based ecologist and field botanist specialising in Natural Values Assessments (NVAs), TASVEG vegetation mapping, and targeted threatened flora surveys across Tasmania. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Botany with Honours from the University of Tasmania, my professional background includes roles as a Senior Environmental Advisor, Senior Botanist, and Ecologist with Tasmanian consultancies.
To date, my consulting work has spanned ecological assessments for major infrastructure providers and utilities including TasNetworks, TasWater, and Tasmanian Irrigation, as well as small scale private developments. I have also been involved in conservation focused work including leading field extension surveys, orchid monitoring, seed collection, and lab work for the Tasmanian Orchid Conservation Program, engaging directly with private landholders and managing volunteer survey teams.
Outside of work, I’ve spent nearly a decade volunteering with the Tasmanian Seed Conservation Centre surveying wild plant populations and collecting seed for long term storage. I’ve served on the committee for the Tasmanian Field Naturalists Club, and occasionally step in as a teaching assistant for third-year botany at UTAS. I also have a husband, two kids and a dog, and an ever growing list of hobbies and things I want to learn.
I work with plants and native ecosystems simply because I love them. And yes, they are all my favourites, all the time, all at once, even if it rains.
I began ECO42 on the philosophy that development and environmental values can, and have to, coexist. Society needs infrastructure, housing, and industry to function, and those needs can be met alongside environmental protection. By working thoughtfully with the landscape, I can help you meet your project objectives while doing right by the environment, finding the way that both can succeed together.

Rigby
A structurally challenged Yorkshire Terrier with big feelings and an overly enthusiastic approach to home office surveillance, where residents are routinely mistaken for serious security threats.
Rigby is the first dog I have ever shared a life with. He is my ‘baptism of fire’ into the world of dogs. An accidental rescue of sorts who has no femoral heads whose back legs are now held on by muscles, ligaments and good will…
He has made me love and appreciate dogs in a way I never have, and sent me down the rabbit hole of learning about scent detection dogs and how to train them. He will never be field fit, but one day he will be the leader of the pack of botanist dogs which is my ‘retirement’ goal.
ECO42 holds full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.
